Top Ten Posts of 2013 & a Free New Year’s Printable!

It is so hard for me to believe that 2014 will be here in a couple of days!

This past year seems to have flown by. Guess that is what happens when you are busy caring for two under two, which is what I did for half of 2013…and then a 2 year old and one year old for the second half.

I was thrilled yesterday, when I found out that I am one of the 12 finalists in Jennifer Rizzo’s Holiday Home Tour Linky Party! One final winner will be chosen at the end of the week, but this really is the situation where it is just an honor to be nominated. Seriously. I cannot even tell you how thrilled I was when I saw my home included!
Today, I decided to join some lovely bloggers who are sharing their top posts from the past year.

This was an odd blogging year for me since I made the switch back to Blogger. I started out here in 2007 with my blog Romantic Thoughts, but moved to Typepad in 2009 (neither of those blogs look as pretty now as they did when I actually used them, so expect to be disappointed if you head over).

After contemplating how much money I could save by going back to Blogger, and realizing how much it has improved in the time that I have been gone, I came back. But since blogging was put on the back burner for much of the year for me, I barely ever posted. Maybe once or twice a month. Some months none at all. Now that I have gotten back into it, it is kind of funny that half of the highest viewed came from my Holiday Home Tour all from the this past month. But here is a little trip down 2013 memory lane if you care to join me…

In January, I finally got around to sharing my holiday home decorations (after Christmas!) in Christmas 2012

In February, I shared about how my babies were growing up fast, myself included…

In early April, I shared our Rustic Spring Mantel all decked out for Easter…
That month, I also shared a DIY tutorial on how to make a dyed coffee filter floral bouquet

In late May, I shared our vintage photo wall collage

as well as a little post about the gifts of motherhood in it’s the simple things...(which is still one of my favorite posts)…

In November, I came back from a long hiatus in the post “where have I been & giving thanks”
and in December…I started blogging “like normal” again with a DIY Winter Woodland Scene tutorial…

and a tour of our holiday home, which had five posts in total (all my top viewed for the whole year with Hazel & Owen’s room being my most viewed!), but I am going to lump them all together as one here and send you on the Grand Tour

I want to thank each and every one of you who followed with me on this crazy journey this past year, and a very big thank you to all of you who continued to visit after I made the move to Blogger. I love hearing from all of you and am enjoying meeting new blogging friends these days as well.

Here is to a fantastic 2014!

I wanted to give you a little something to ring in the new year, so I have another free printable image for you! It is the one at the very top of my post, with a quote I found that I think I am going to work towards in this upcoming year. I am far too hard on myself in the day to day.
I need to learn to be a bit kinder to me 🙂

Feel free to print the large version, available below, to display in your home as a reminder to do the same this year! Free for personal use only. I have made three different versions available for you.
Hope you like!
What are your hopes for the new year? I am all ears…
Till next time…

Hello dear Alice… loved all of these posts… so happy you are back to blogging again!… I think my favorite of all is when precious little Hazel brought you all of those treasures from Nature and said "be okay mama"… touched my heart so!… Happy New Year to you and your adorable family, much love, xoxo Julie Marie
