Rustic Fall Front Porch

Last week, I shared my fall home tour, but I took so many photos that I wanted to share more with you in individual posts about each space. Today I am sharing more details of our rustic front porch!

Since I prefer to keep my indoor decorating more neutral in color and style, I used the outside to play up a more traditional fall look with lots of orange pumpkins, colorful gourds and striped squash.

I placed our large pumpkins in decorative urns and antique crocks with  excelsior wood shavings
(that you can buy at craft stores or online – *affiliate link).

I love the mix of the bright orange with white and how the wood shaving gives it a rustic, natural feel.

My mom picked up the corn husks from a local farm market for very cheap. She purchased two bundles, but since they were so big, I turned them into four separate ones.

Some people have asked how I got the corn husks to stay put around the door. All that I did, was use twine to tie them to the sides of our roof overhang. They have held up thus far, even in the wind and rain!

I also put a strand of white lights all the way around the door. I love lights!

A vintage macrame owl is gracing the front door as opposed to a wreath.

A lot of people have also asked about my macrame owls (the one here and in my entryway). They are both vintage finds that my mom gave to me.

She does have this one below currently available in her Etsy shop if you are interested! And she said you could have a discount too! Just enter the code ALICE15 in the coupon code box during checkout to save 15% on orders over $10 in either of her shops: MomsantiquesNthings or AlteredEcoDesigns.

(I totally snagged this pic from her shop and edited it to match the photos in my post, ha! She won’t mind, right?) Umm and I am kinda wanting this one, so you better go get it quick if you want it before I snag it from her house! {grinning}

Our outdoor light fixture came from Lowe’s and was a present from my sister when we moved in. The welcome sign was purchased from a wholesale home decor website a few years ago, but I can’t recall now which one. Whenever I have a yard sale people always ask if they can buy it! And the answer is always…no 🙂

I mentioned in my fall home tour about using my rustic cart on the porch this year. It looks great all decked out with an over-sized pumpkin, a fern and more gourds and squash.

More pumpkins and gourds. I just can’t get enough, I guess?

So there you have it! The “full” fall front porch tour. Hope you enjoyed it and were inspired! Next week I will take you back inside my little entryway and living room for a full tour of those spaces decorated for fall.

Come over and follow me on Pinterest and Instagram if you don’t already!
Till next time…
