Goodbye Summer
Summer is almost over, and I am sad to see it go. But then…fall is my favorite, so I am definitely ready to sink right into it. Here is one last hoorah to summer with some random shots I captured these past few months and a look back on some of our adventures.
Overall, it was a busy, but relaxing summer. We were able to get away, spend time with extended family and most of all spend time with each other. With Hazel turning four and Owen on the verge of turning three, it feels like these little years a slipping right through my hands. Before I know it Hazel will be leaving me all day for kindergarten and Owen will follow along soon thereafter. And I’ll just be sitting here wondering where the time went.
These days of being a stay-at-home mom for the past four years has been almost like a permanent summer vacation. Not that it was always sunshine and good days. There were a lot of hard times in there. Peaks and valleys. But I made my own schedule and we did what we wanted every day. I could come up with an idea on a whim, and we would go do it. And now it is starting to feel like those days will be over. Soon school will rule and I will have schedules to keep and early mornings to greet. Not my forte.
We visited family and Hazel held her first sparkler. (She wasn’t a big fan)
In this gorgeous log cabin. It was like a dream. I could have stayed there all summer.
We “found” the North Pole and saw Santa’s Workshop (in the Adirondacks).
It was a great summer! And I know it will be an amazing fall…no matter how much life changes.

Great post, Alice! I always love seeing pictures of Hazel and Owen…yes, they are truly growing fast. But believe me, they will start school and by the time you have a cup of tea and sweep the floors, they will be home!
So glad that you had a good summer. I love fall, too.

Looks like a fantastic Summer! You made some wonderful memories for the kids that they will not forget. I see Hazel is a budding photographer and stylist and Owen doesn't mind getting dirty. He will probably be a very creative adult some day just like his mom.
Fall is when I come alive. I say bring it on!
