Easter Basket Gift Ideas for Toddlers & Preschoolers

It’s hard to believe Easter is next weekend! I am always so last minute getting my kids’ baskets made up. If you are in the same boat, and have a toddler or preschooler in your house, I have a round up of some adorable gifts to fill their baskets.

We always have an egg hunt for the kids first thing (outside if the weather cooperates and inside if not), which we fill with little candies, stickers, or small toys. And then eventually the trail of eggs leads to their baskets.

Here are some items that I know my own kids would love (because we already have some) and yours might too! I included a variety here because I like to mix in a stuffed animal, a book, some cute candy, a craft item, and a toy. And a few more eggs of course filled with more goodies!
1. Jellycat Bashful Lamb – Since we already have the Bashful Bunny, I know this one would be a huge hit. These are so soft and cuddly, both of my kids love them.
2. Bunny Ears Headband – I never knew bunny ears could be so adorable that even I might want to wear them. Leave it to Anthropologie.

3. The Bunny Book and Baby Farm Animals – We love Golden Books and we have both of these in our collection. My kids ask me to read them often, especially this time of year.
4. Lindt Chocolate Carrots – We put these in Hazel and Owen’s baskets last year. They are so cute and the chocolate is blended with hazelnuts. Pretty sure I stole a couple last year. Shhh.
5. Animal Nesting Dolls – We have a traditional set of matryoshka dolls that even Owen loves, so I am sure he would think these are the bee’s knees.
6. Lindt Little Chick Chocolates – more Lindt candies! We already got the kids these – well the lambs actually but how sweet are these little chicks? Too cute.
7. Guess How Much I Love You Board Book – An all time favorite at our house. We’ve had it since Hazel was a newborn. I would read it to her in the NICU until I finally got to take her home, and even though she is almost five now, she still loves it. Owen too because it’s a boy bunny and his dad.
8. Pat the Bunny – A classic that every kid should have! Perfect for a first Easter gift or toddler basket. Little ones love all the touch and feel pages. Hazel’s favorites have always been the scented flowers and “Daddy’s scratchy face” 🙂
9. Unicorn Throw Pillow – I had to thrown in a unicorn for my girl Hazel. She is obsessed. And this one from Target’s new Pillowfort line is pretty cute.

10. The World of Peter Rabbit – I’ve had the entire set of Beatrix Potter books since before both kids were born. They were always my favorite when I was little. A bit pricy for the boxed set, but even one or two would make a great addition to any Easter Basket.

11. Jellycat Cordy Roy Fox – we have been on a fox kick lately at my house, so I know my kids would love this little guy.

12. Eggspressions Game of Feelings – I thought this little set looked so sweet and would be great for talking about feelings with the little ones. My kids are big into that especially after we saw the movie Inside Out!

13. I am a Bunny – Another cute Richard Scarry book. This one is a board book perfect for younger children.

14. Magnetic Wooden Block Set – I was immediately drawn to the colors of these blocks (gotta love those soft pastels) and they are magnetic…how cool is that?

15. Floral Bear Throw Pillow – another cute find from Target’s Pillowfort line. I pretty much want everything from it for my kids rooms…

16. Hide n’ Squeak Eggs – cute sorting game that toddlers are sure to love.

17. Paint Your Own Butterfly House – if you have a crafty kid who loves to paint this would be a great spring project. Hazel would definitely enjoy it!

18. Mr. Sketch Washable Scented Markers – both of my children LOVE Mr. Sketch markers. I am so glad they finally came out with these washable ones!

19. Gardening Tools for Kids – Hazel and Owen love to help me with our flower garden and planting so I really want to get them some “real” gardening tools to help out this spring and summer. If you went with a themed basket you could throw in some gardening gloves and seed packets as well!

Well, it is getting down to the wire so it’s time to get those baskets put together. I still have a few more goodies to pick up and need some new baskets stat. And I have try hard not to eat all of that delicious candy my husband just bought before I fill their baskets!

Till next time…
