Refreshing Our Home for Fall

I have partnered with Raymour & Flanigan for this post. All expressed opinions are 100% my own. Full disclosure.

It’s almost officially fall! And thus begins my favorite time of year. I can’t get enough of this season. I always wish it could last just a little bit longer. My full fall home tour will be coming at the end of this month, but today I am excited to share how I have refreshed our home this season with some new furniture and accent pieces from Raymour & Flanigan. So come on in to get a sneak peek!

We will start on the front porch, which has been recently updated with a pair of wooden Adirondack style chairs. The last two summers we have vacationed in Lake Placid and Old Forge, and on this last trip, my children began recognizing these chairs everywhere.

When I found the Mopani Outdoor Chair, I knew a pair would be perfect on the front porch to remind us of our now favorite family vacation spot.
We can sit out here with a cup of coffee, watch the kids play in the yard and enjoy the beauty of fall that will be surrounding us for the next couple of months.
Now, we will head inside to the living room to see some exciting changes in there. If you read this post, you know I have been wanting to keep this room family friendly, cozy and comfortable. I have been on the hunt for a gray sectional and chair to replace our older pieces.
My husband and I visited Raymour & Flanigan’s clearance outlet, which is next to their main showroom in our area. It’s the place that we purchased our first sofa and chair. As soon as we walked in, we both spotted the Hayden chair and thought it was just what we needed with the baby coming soon. Then we turned and saw the matching sectional sofa. They were perfect for our space and so affordable at the clearance outlet. I could not have been happier.
We ended up giving the faux suede sofa and chair to my mom and decided to put the leather sofa in storage until we purchase our next home. That will likely happen in the spring or summer, and my hope is to have a formal living room and an informal family room in our next place.
We have had the Hayden set a couple of weeks now, and it’s been so great to have enough space for everyone to have their own “spot”. The kids and I cuddle and read books here, watch television, and I’ve even taken a few naps already! Being 8 months pregnant will do that to you I guess.
I added several of my own throw pillows to give it more of a boho style to make it our own. I also brought in a shelving unit from another room because I have been dying to style some shelves for so long. I love finally having a designated place (besides our mantel) to display my favorite things and family photos.
Since a coffee table is pretty unrealistic in our living room (with two kids who treat it like a gymnasium), we were in need of some side tables or small stools to place drinks on, etc. I brought down the one from our bedroom redo to put by the chair, and we decided to add the Petro Stool next to the sectional. I just love this little teak stool so much with the rustic wood and gold detailing.
The last update to the living room, is a new light fixture. I have mentioned before wanting to replace our vintage brass chandelier for a long while, but couldn’t find just the “right” one. But when I saw the Bald Pendant, I knew this was it. It has a very unique design, and I love the modern vibe it gives the space.
We had to put our record console in storage until we can get it repaired. You might recall it being in the spot shown below last fall. Now, we have the fireplace console (that we got from Raymour & Flanigan a couple of years ago) and television back in here. It’s pretty cozy in the fall and winter months with the faux fire “blazing.” You can choose to have the heater on or off and since our house is pretty small, we don’t need it. We get to enjoy the fireplace without the heat!
I always want our living spaces to be as kid friendly as possible, so even some cute stuffed animals have found their way in here. The playroom and office are in the adjacent room, but toys tend to find their way all over the house no matter what!
Around the corner, we will head into the dining room to see a few more updates. Ever since we bought this home, I have had an antique crystal chandelier in here. I get so many compliments on it and I know some of you will be sad that I swapped it out for a more modern light fixture, but I was ready for the change!
I have been desiring a more eclectic vibe for this room and the Penta Pendant was the perfect piece to make the change. I also replaced the metal chairs for some vintage Bentwoods that I found at an antique shop. The metal ones are on the back patio now to provide outdoor seating which we were in need of. I love the warm wood tone of these Bentwoods and the pop of color on the seats. I am in love with the new look!
I have lots more to show you of our home refreshed for fall and will do so along with Lindsay of The White Buffalo Styling Co.’s Blogger Stylin’ Home Tour next week! Make sure you come back to see more details of how we have welcomed fall throughout our home.
Till next time…
