• Girly Wolf Den: Little Girl’s Bedroom Inspiration

    My four year old daughter, Hazel, loves wolves. She has a growing collection of stuffed animals and even proudly sports a wolf hat to school every morning. So, as I have been racking my brain, trying to figure out how to combine all of her interests into a cohesive bedroom design, I decided it might help if I pulled together some themes to see what she loved best. Today, I am sharing my first one…a girly wolf den inspired bedroom.  I know that getting her to fall in love with some of these items (like the bedding) is a long shot. Her favorite color is magenta…sigh. But I am still…

  • Organizing Winter Gear without a Closet or Mudroom

    Even though this winter has been a mild one for us, there have still been plenty of cold days requiring getting all bundled up before heading out. Unfortunately, without having a coat closet on the first floor, we are limited for storage of all of our gear. Today, I am sharing some solutions that have worked to help keep it all organized. Our home, thankfully, has decent sized closets upstairs, but not even one downstairs! We do have a small “mudroom”, that leads to the basement, off the back of the house, but we never use that entrance. The space is in pretty rough shape and it’s very tight, so…

  • Boho Eclectic Fall Home Tour

    Welcome to the second installment of my fall home tour for 2015! I am so honored to be joining Kelly from Eclectically Vintage for her ‘Eclectically Fall’ home tour this year! There is so much inspiration in this group of talented bloggers! The stop right before me was my sweet friend Kristen of Ella Claire. If you are visiting by way of her, I am so glad you came over for the tour! If you have yet to check hers out, be sure to go back. Kristen is always so inspiring. Okay…I hope you are ready for picture overload! I always try to limit myself to a certain number of photos…

  • Styling an Eclectic Bookshelf {in the living room}

    Lately, I have been obsessed with bookshelf styling. So much so that I stole a shelf from my kids’ room, just to decorate it in the living room. (Don’t worry, I replaced it with something else that was even more kid friendly for them). I purchased this shelf at an antique store, long before having children, and while it isn’t exactly “the look” I was going for, it had the space I wanted. I will be sharing the full living room refresh later this week, as I mentioned last Friday, but today, it’s all about the shelf. You might recall the rustic shelf that was in this space previously. It has been there…

  • Boho Chic Thrift Store Placemat Throw Pillow

    Last February, I had the privilege of guest posting for me sweet friend Amy of Delineate Your Dwelling. I shared a simple DIY tutorial on how I turned some dated, thrift store placemats into a cute, boho style throw pillow. Since, I am still just getting back into the swing of things since the death of my grandfather, I am resharing this post with you today. I hope to have some new posts for you next week! Here is the original post: I was thrilled when Amy asked me to guest post for her, as I am one of her biggest fans. I love the challenge of transforming what others…

  • Styling a Rustic Shelf {with kids in mind}

    Hey everybody! Life has been busy with the little ones and my grandfather, whom I love and adore, is not doing well. I have been trying to visit as often as possible, and even though he is 96, saying goodbye is never easy. Prayers are welcomed that the rest of his days are as pain free as possible and filled with peace. Today, I am sharing a guest post that I did last month for Jennifer Rizzo with some tips for styling shelves while keeping young children in mind. As you may know, I have two preschool/toddler age children, fifteen months apart, so my decorating has changed a lot in the…
