• Christmas Village Display

Merry Christmas! This month has flown by hasn’t it? I have been busy making our home festive and filled with wonder and excitement. We are keeping things relaxed around here this year for the holidays, so I didn’t share a big “holiday home tour” post earlier in the month. I might share some snippets of how we decorated after the rush has passed, but today, I have one vignette that I really wanted to share with you. I have always loved Christmas villages ever since I was little. The individual pieces are often quite  pricey, so it always seemed out of the realm of possibility for my holiday décor. I…

  • White Farmhouse Christmas Dining Room

Today, I am taking you back in time again to Christmas 2010. I shared the photographs in this post on my former Typepad blog but never ended up transferring several of those posts here when I moved back to Blogger in 2013. This year for Christmas, I am not looking to make things “picture perfect” but rather to make memories for my little ones, so I am taking my time getting our house done for the holidays. It is all a work in progress with fun vignettes here and there and will probably be rearranged by little hands several times over before Christmas. As I focus on making our new…

  • Christmas Past

Welcome to the second month of Town and Country Living’s Cozy Living Series! I am excited to have the opportunity to join these talented bloggers and share our personal versions of how we do cozy throughout the year. And what is a cozier time than this? This is my favorite time of year! It has changed a lot around our house with three little ones and become much more colorful, fun, and I’ll admit it: even a bit cheesy. Not even kidding…we have a huge inflatable elf in our yard as I type. The kids love it. I am still working on getting our house decked out for this Christmas…

  • Vintage Christmas Decorations

This post contains affiliate links. I may receive a small commission for any sales made through them, but the cost to you does not change. Full disclosure. I love vintage Christmas decorations. They are my favorite no matter what trend is circulating for the holiday season. I suppose it’s because they remind me of my own childhood Christmases and bring back all of those warm fuzzy feelings. You know from when Christmas truly felt magical? I remember pulling out all the ornaments my mom had collected through the years and decorating our trees with them. I like to keep that tradition alive by continuing to have vintage ornaments and decorations…

  • Rustic Tray Styling & Remembering Grandpa

Last week, I shared a little behind the scenes of how I hide our winter gear in a home with no coat closet or usable mudroom. One important piece to that, is the storage ottoman we keep in the living room. Today, I am showing how I have styled it on top, this winter, with a new rustic serving tray. My mom gave me this wooden tray, with a blue plaid/flannel insert, for Christmas last year. After I opened it she said it was to remember Grandpa by. My heart ached for a moment, and I had to fight back the tears. If you came by for my fall home…

  • Organizing Winter Gear without a Closet or Mudroom

Even though this winter has been a mild one for us, there have still been plenty of cold days requiring getting all bundled up before heading out. Unfortunately, without having a coat closet on the first floor, we are limited for storage of all of our gear. Today, I am sharing some solutions that have worked to help keep it all organized. Our home, thankfully, has decent sized closets upstairs, but not even one downstairs! We do have a small “mudroom”, that leads to the basement, off the back of the house, but we never use that entrance. The space is in pretty rough shape and it’s very tight, so…
