• Spring in the Dining Room

Well, hello there! It has been quite awhile since I have been here! I am happy to pop in today to share with you a little spring/summer vignette in our dining room. Life has been all sorts of crazy over the past year and I have not really focused on the house or decorating or doing much of anything other than chasing kids around and making sure everyone else has what they need. But as my youngest two gain more independence (and one takes lengthy afternoon naps), and my older two are back to full time school, I am finding time to get back to some of the things I…

  • Log Cabin Home Tour: Master Bedroom

Last summer, my family and I stayed at a gorgeous log cabin in the Adirondacks. I have previously shared tours of the kitchen and living room, as well as a post about our trip in general. Today, I am finally getting around to sharing the room that we stayed in…the top level master bedroom. The entire home was impressive, but when I walked into this bedroom with vaulted ceilings, a reading nook and its own fireplace I was floored. It was a stunner…let me tell you. I could definitely imagine doing it up in my own eclectic bohemian style! What fun that would be. But here is a little tour…

  • Log Cabin Home Tour: Living Room & Porch

Last month when my family went to the Adirondacks, we had the pleasure of staying at a beautiful private log home. I previously shared the kitchen and dining room in this post, but today, I am excited to bring you back inside to tour the comfortable living room and serene cabin porch. Upon entering the cabin, the living room was off to the left. No frills or fancy vaulted ceilings or stone fireplace like what you might imagine when you hear “log home”, but it was very inviting and had a mix of relaxed and eclectic pieces. It truly felt like a home. If you are a regular here, you…

  • Log Cabin Home Tour: Kitchen & Dining Room

As I mentioned last week, I have been preparing a full log cabin home tour from our recent stay in the Adirondacks. Today, I am so excited to get it started with the kitchen and dining room! If you missed the personal side of the trip, you can check that out here. I will have follow up posts with tours of the living room, master bedroom and more, in the coming weeks so stay tuned. For now, come on in and enjoy a virtual tour of this dreamy log home’s kitchen and dining room… My mom was actually the one who found this rental cabin listed on vacationrentals.com. I have…

  • Trip to the Adirondacks

Last week, we had the pleasure of going to the Adirondacks for a few days. It was the first time my husband and I had been there. We went with my mom, step-dad and uncle who had all been before. When my mom and uncle were little, my grandparents would take them up there since it was where my grandmother grew up. That made it even more special since both of my grandparents passed away earlier this year. It almost felt as if they were with us. Their memory definitely was. We stayed in a beautiful log cabin, which I will be sharing a full home tour of…in installments over…

  • July Dining Room Mantel Vignette

It’s no secret that I like to change out my mantel decor…a lot. If you visit here regularly, your probably know this. Today, I am sharing how I just recently redid it for the month of July. I kept it fairly simple with a mixture of vintage and eclectic pieces, hints of black, potted succulents and fresh cut flowers from the yard. We bought this old mantel from a local salvage shop and gave it a makeover a couple of years ago. It used to have very chippy brown paint. It has lived in our dining room for the past several years. Sometimes, I want to move it back to the…
