• The Collector | DIY Feather and Plate Wall Art

I’m a hoarder a collector. I love things. I love certain kinds of things. And then when I love certain kinds of things, I love having lots of those kinds of things. I am a collector. What makes me drawn to certain things? Things that have character. a story. a history. These things speak to me silently. Calling out to give them a new home where they will be cherished. treasured. adored. I oblige. Being a collector does have its downsides (depending on how you look at it). You can end up with a bunch of useless stuff that you just like to look at. clutter up your home, and…

  • Eclectic Bohemian Summer Mantel

Summer is well on its way and with it I have been sprucing my decor.  I find my style evolving all of the time, and while I still love rustic, farmhouse decorating, I am moving more towards full on eclectic with subtle touches of bohemia. I have brought this style into my dining room recently to bring a fresh look for summer. When I shared my last mantel post, I thought that would be the final one from this location, since I had big plans to move it up to my bedroom. Well, it sat in an awkward spot in my dining room for a few months (because I got…

  • Summer Garden

Okay, so the title of this post is a bit misleading. I do not have a summer garden.  But……… I do have a really pretty crab apple tree with a enamel basket that says, “Summer Garden”, so that counts right? I actually don’t have much of a green thumb. Gardening seems like learning a new language to me. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to try my hand at it, and hopefully will soon. I have told my daughter that we will plant something, so that will be my motivation to do it. Keeping my word to her. Until then we will enjoy the beauty that nature brings all…

  • Cabin Dreaming & Summer Wishes

Lately I have had a serious case of cabin fever. Not the kind where I have been stuck inside. I have been getting out plenty. I have the kind of cabin fever where I desperately want to get myself a rustic cabin.  I think it was last fall when the desire came. Right before Christmas. And the passion for it has grown ever since. A lovely little rustic cabin tucked away in the woods. Yes, that is what I have been day dreaming about. But since a small, rustic, cabin in the woods, isn’t on the horizon for me, I decided to create a rustic “cabin style” back patio for…

  • summer garden…

It's hard to believe that it has been so long since my last post. Time sure is flying by around here. Joshua and I are staying very busy preparing for the arrival of Baby {Girl} W.  We recently held a yard sale to clear things out and make some money, which turned out to be a great success! We are actually already excited to do it again next year. But, lest you think I am ahead of the game, allow me to correct you…there is still so much to do around here! I get emailed and facebooked quite frequently about the status of our nursery, and while I wish I…

  • New Treasures…

My giveaway winnings from Mira arrived over the weekend and left me speechless and overjoyed. Just look at the delightful wrapping…{I always swoon over creatively beautiful gift wrappings}… She even included the little winning slip with my name on it which made me smile, along with several extra little trinkets that I wasn’t expecting… Everything she sent was impeccably beautiful…her photograph note cards are gorgeous and her bookmarks are of the highest quality – I even started using them. But I have to say…this handmade Farine heart is my most favorite… I quickly found a home for it in the dining room hutch… …near a set of vintage canisters and some…
