Merry Christmas and Glad New Year!
The month of December is flying by, and Christmas will be here before we know it. Which is why it is time for me to take a much needed break from blogging (and time spent on social media) to unwind, unplug and plug fully into my family and home life. So many great things have happened for me this year with this little blogging “gig” but so many more important things are happening here in our home as we raise two beautiful children.
I have a couple of posts scheduled that will go live during my break, but I will be spending my days getting lost in the wonder with my little ones, enjoying cozy nights cuddled on the couch watching Christmas movies (not gonna lie…this oneis my absolute favorite*) and striving to keep in my heart what this season is all about.
Having a two and three year old this Christmas is extra special, because they both pretty much “get it” and there is so much excitement in the air around here. They are both very interested in Santa, the reindeer and all of the presents. Therefore, I want to spend more days reading Bible stories, teaching them about why Jesus came and celebrating His birth in special ways. I never want them to forget why we celebrate.
Most of all I want to be present with them. It is so easy in this society to let life take over and find ourselves distracted by everything around us. I have found myself that way more than I would like to admit lately. I love blogging and sharing with all of you, but hope to have a more balanced perspective in the New Year. All of the long nights on the computer eventually take their toll. I know that I personally need to work on better balancing taking care of my children and marriage, keeping up with our home and continuing to inspire and share through my creative outlet here. It is hard to do, but I know that first one takes top priority.
If you came this way from Etsy, looking for a post about my rag ball ornaments, I am sorry that I didn’t get to it this year. I had mentioned to several people who requested them that I had planned a diy tutorial, but I honestly just never found enough hours in the day to get it finished. I promise to share it at some point in the new year!
My brain is constantly overflowing with ideas, and I am already looking forward to getting started on *some* of them in the New Year (<—while maintaining that balance I was just talking about), so I hope you will continue to follow along with me then.
