Beckoning Spring…

Beckoning Spring2

I don’t know about you, but I am ready for spring. Living in a cold climate {for almost half of the year} can really drain a person. Not to mention all of the dark, cloudy days…without the hope of the sun peering out. Thankfully, where we live (in Western New York), the snow and ice have begun to melt…however…the temperature is still quite cool. But just looking out and seeing only a few patches of snow gives me hope…hope that spring, and the warmth of the sun, will return to my neck of the woods {hopefully} very soon.

This hope has spurned my creative endeavors…and got me a lookin’ around the studio for supplies to create my Spring Collection of treasures for the shop. I have a hard time using many of the vintage items that I frequently purchase, for creating, because I can find beauty in even the smallest treasure…and have a hard time letting go. As I mentioned in a previous post or two…I am looking, however, to pare down, de-clutter…and learn to let go…

Here are some treasures from my studio…

Vintage Rick Rack

Vintage Spools

Clothespin Teacup

Vintage Clothespins

I was up to the wee hours of the morning last night creating and cannot wait to get all of the new goods listed at the shop. I hope to do so this week…but in the mean time…here is a preview of some of what is to come…

Handmade Easter & spring wreaths…

Happy Easter Wreath 1

Spring Wreath

{sold}

Paper collages…

Springtime Joy Collage

and so much more…

I will announce when a majority has been listed…and show off more creations soon!

Till next time…

{Not 5 minutes after I posted this, the snow started to fly! How ironic.}

    The preview of things to come is beautiful from your studio. Here’s to the sun peaking out a bit more. I am so with you, it’s been raining & storming here for days (much needed, so I should not complain ;). I am so looking forward to sunshine and throwing the windows open with careless abandon – well one can dream! Can’t wait to see more of your creations.

    Ohhh, I so no the feeling. Right around this time of year I get so tired of cold and dreery that I wander why I haven’t moved South?! Far, far South.
    As I type the windchills is in the negatives. But, your beautiful photos have reminded me that Spring is not far off – or at least I hope! 🙂

    Oh Alice, I love the wreaths as I mentioned on flickr. Also wanted to tell you that I too have a tendency to “hoard” my favorite bits and pieces – waiting for that ultimate inspiration – I try and force myself to use them in my creations but I always hold back. Your spring them has me convinced I will revive them for spring!
