Vintage Sugar Bag Pillow

I always have a long list of projects to work on for my home. (Don’t we all?) One that I have sadly had on my list for several years, is to turn some old sugar bags into pillows. Well, this week I finally made one of them! I thought I would pop in here to share it with you.

Before this, I had it wrapped around a pillow with safety pins but didn’t have it on the couch or chairs much. Kinda tacky I know πŸ˜‰
It was super easy to make into a pillow cover. I made it into an envelope style so that I could easily take it off to wash. With two small kids, a husband and a dog this is definitely a good thing!
You are getting a small glimpse into my *almost fully decorated* living room. I have been trying to get it finished to do a room reveal post, but I still want to add a few things here and there. (It won’t be completely finished when I do the room reveal as we have crown molding and some other big projects to tackle in here in the future.)
I have to give a huge thank you to all of you who came to give me tips, advice and compliments on my “decorating fail”. I will definitely be trying that idea elsewhere. I am thinking inside my mantel at some point (but we are in the process of moving it to our bedroom – it is big, so it is taking us awhile to finally get it in there!).
I mentioned in my last post that I finished the corner shelf. I added my favorite dark brown burlap to it and filled it with some farmhouse inspired decor. Here is a sneak peek:
I will share it in full next week…along with my full living room hopefully!
