Rustic Fall Mantel Vignette & a Free Printable

Fall is finally here! Okay, well I know not “technically”, and I am still enjoying these warm summer days, but fall is absolutely my favorite time of year. I already have my rustic mantel decorated for the season – which I am sure will be redecorated several times over during the next couple of months, but here is the “early fall” version:

In fact, I actually ended up redecorating it as I was in the process of getting the photos taken for the Fall Vignettes tour I am participating in today (more details below).

I changed out the wood shutter above for a rustic piece of wood. I flipped the shutter around (to show the chippy gray blue side) and put it, with its pair, on the inside.
Since we don’t have any real pumpkins yet, I decorated my mantel with faux and a few fabric pumpkins that I recently made. I plan to share a tutorial on these later this week!
I wanted to keep the style of this mantel vignette natural, earthy, and rustic with a little bit of bohemian flavor.
In the center of the mantel, I framed a rustic inspired fall printable that I made to share with you.
This printable welcomes fall with a quote from Albert Camus, “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” The high resolution version is available for you to download at the end of this post.
My two white faux fur pumpkins were propped on pedestals with some Spanish moss and some acorns were strewn about in front of the framed print.
For more hints of fall, I displayed Indian corn and more acorns in a glass vase.
Another little owl, from my growing collection, found his way into this vignette.
A plaid scarf, with lovely hues of fall, hangs on the old wood. On the other side is a fall wreath that I made a couple of years after Josh and I were married. (We are coming on 8 years this October 1st!)
I pulled a rustic bench in from outside to display in front of the mantel, draped with faux fur, along with more fall decor.
I will share a full tour of our dining room later this month, but you can get a small glimpse of my table now!
I hope you enjoyed this stop on the Fall Vignettes tour. Be sure to visit the other talented bloggers before and after me. There is so much inspiration on this tour!
And don’t forget to snag your free printable while you are here!

And because I just couldn’t help myself, I made a second version in chalkboard style!

These 8×10 printables are available for personal use only. Click on the links below each image and then right click to save the high resolution version to your computer. Print, decorate and enjoy! Would love to see what you do with them if you use them in your own decor. Send me a link or email me a picture!
