Dollhouse Living Room Reveal
It’s another reveal day of #DollhouseTherapy! This awesome dollhouse renovation challenge was started a few months ago by my friend Cassie of Primitive and Proper. She, the other co-hosts (Emyand Anu) and myself are revealing our chosen rooms with you today and invite you to share your own mini reno projects with our link party at the end of this post!
So here we go…let the miniature fun begin!
I finally…finally...got the dollhouse living room done. If you have been following my progress with this fixer upper, you might know that I intended to finish this room first way back in March, but it didn’t happen. I am pretty much over the moon happy with how it came out, though, so I think it’s all good that it took me a little bit longer. I love it so much I wish I could shrink myself down and move right it! Let’s pretend that’s what we are doing right now.
Find yourself a little bottle that says “DRINK ME” and we will head on in…
If you missed what this room looked like before here it is…pretty much a blank slate. Click here if you want to see my inspiration for the room and the original plans I had for it.
Getting great photos of these miniature spaces is tricky! My big, clunky camera doesn’t always fit at the best angles, so I will admit…I used my cell phone for a few of these just to share the details with you. They aren’t the best quality, but you’ll get to see things you otherwise wouldn’t.
I made many of the pieces in this room including the shag rug, couch, pillows, coffee table, plants and hanging light fixture. I basically just used random things I found around my house or craft supplies.
For this room I was going for a “collected, global, bohemian” vibe. Like the people who live here are world travelers who bring back antiques and special tchotchkes from their excursions.
Many of the items are actually miniatures I had when I was little, some that belonged to my grandmother, and a few new or thrifted pieces. My sister gave us the bird cage and I got the dresser at a tag sale for $1.50.
The pillows were made from fabric I bought on Etsy, and I found buttons that looked like cute granny pillows, so I threw them on the sofa too.
For the light fixture, I ended up changing my mind about my original idea of a beaded chandelier. I wanted something a bit funky and mid-century in style. I found a vintage brooch that I messed around with a bit to get how I wanted it and then attached a large bead. I used some flat round super strength magnets to stick it to the ceiling medallion. That way we can change it out when we feel like it.
I made the blinds the same way I did for the kitchen. The floating shelves were actually some children’s blocks that I found in a bag from Savers. I used E6000 glue* to attach those and many of the other pieces to the walls.
The coffee table was made from a coaster and some bamboo beads and the ceramic dog was one we had. He looks pretty cuddly on the shag rug.
So there you have it…our boho eclectic dollhouse living room! I hope you enjoyed the tour.

I love the vibrant teal wallpaper you picked, and continued with that color with the 'granny pillows'. It goes so well with the lighter pine wood. I just love your color scheme here. <3
