Halloween Front Porch
Hi Everyone! The kids and I have been gearing up for Halloween around the house this month! All who dare enter will find bats, crows, rats, spiders (oh so many spiders!), ghosts, skeletons and even a little Halloween village we put together.
Today, I wanted to show you how we decorated the front porch to get ready for Halloween night!

My kids like a little spooky but nothing really scary. I personally think the scariest thing out here is our overgrown landscaping…let’s just say it is not my forte.
I began by putting out our fall wreath from last year with a wooden jack-o-lantern in the middle. This year, I decorated our pink front door with the bat silhouettes that my mom made for me last year (see how I used them then here), and surrounded the door with burlap “Happy Halloween” ribbon.
I mostly stuck to just using what we already had from previous years, including the fall wreath, the pumpkin face, little black rats and ceramic jack-o-lanterns. My mom and I made the ghost family together when Owen was a baby, and she added a new one for Violet last year. You can find the tutorial here.
The urns were here when we moved in and over the summer, the kids planted some marigolds in them that have grown quite a bit since then.
We have a couple of vintage melted plastic popcorn decorations hanging in the window, similar to these. I found them at the Goodwill last year.
This year we got slightly creepier by covering the bushes with stretchy cobwebs…big thanks to Grandma who did all that work!
I did purchase some candy corn lights this year and put them around our lamppost.
My mom even covered the big tree out front…
And Hazel couldn’t resist adding some to our mailbox!
Since taking these photos, we’ve added a few more spooky touches around, so if I find the time to take more pics soon, I will share them in a Halloween home tour post!
Hope you are enjoying a lovely fall!
Till next time…
