Simple Spring Entryway

I’m back again already! Can you believe it? Once I got back into the swing of taking photographs (with my actual camera and not my phone), I have had a lot of motivation to share more. It made me realize how much I have missed this creative outlet and the community I have come to know here.

Today, I am sharing a few more photos I took of some simple spring decorating I have done around the house. Our entryway leads to the dining room on one side and living room on the other. It hasn’t gotten a lot of attention since we moved in a few years ago, but my husband did paint the interior door and trim black at my request. I wanted it to match the dining room. He started painting the rest of the trim bright white (although you can see in some of these photos he hasn’t finished yet!).

We haven’t made a firm decision about the wall color in here. I am leaning towards wallpaper, but I’m a little afraid of all the work it would take, and what if it didn’t work out well in the end πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. So we shall see what happens with that…

I love the small whitewashed cabinet I found at Raymour & Flanigan for this space. It’s the perfect size in here. I hide a lot of kids craft supplies in here, since they use the dining table for most of their creative projects.

I received the Rae Dunn “Hydrate” watering can from a community member in the Buy Nothing group I am part of (I shared more about that in my last post). It was actually a “thank you” gift since I gave her some items she had been in search of. It is my first and only Rae Dunn piece. I have always enjoyed seeing these pieces, I just never took the plunge and bought any myself. This one looks really cute with some dogwood blossoms from the tree out front.

Something very exciting around here has been the opening of Hobby Lobby about ten minutes from me. I had only been to one once before. Now, I am obsessed. I recently went on a small shopping spree and got myself some signs to hang around the house like the “Home Sweet Home” plaque. I could not resist. It was so pretty and seems to fit so well right here.

I put an antique vanity bench in here with one of my favorite kilim pillows. This bench actually goes with the vanity in my bedroom, but I didn’t have enough space for it there, so I decided to repurpose it in here. The mirror above it came from Target a few years ago. I guess I have a pale, muted pink and black thing going on in here. It just seems to be what I’m drawn to these days.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these simple spring decorating posts from our home. Everyday is an opportunity to remember that life (and our home) doesn’t have to be perfect to be lovely and reflect us and our story. I am working on this day in and day out, as perfectionism is a mighty force in my life. Letting go and being free to do what feels right for me and our family has released a lot of pressure for me. Hopefully, I can continue on that path as we work on more spaces around the house (and as I work on caring for and loving myself!).

I’ll be back soon! Thank you for taking the time to visit and please share if you have enjoyed this post.

Till next time…
