Vintage Shabby Chic Valentine's Day Mantel Decor

Happy February! With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I wanted to share an oldie but a goody (at least in my humble opinion!). We are going back to 2014 when I decorated our vintage mantel for the holiday of love. I didn’t buy anything new for this vintage inspired mantel vignette. I simply shopped my home and thought outside of the box. Back to Blogging Illness has been rampant in our home for the past few months. We’ve had the flu, stomach viruses and lots of colds pass through. Even poor little Fletcher caught RSV just before he turned three months. It has been a rough winter. I hope the groundhog…

  • Thanksgiving Mantel + Free Printables

This post contains affiliate links. I may receive a small commission for any sales made through them. Full disclosure. Thanksgiving is quickly approaching! We are hosting dinner for the first time in our new home this year, so I have been busy getting the house ready. I set up a vintage boho mantel vignette, that I wanted to share with you today, along with some free printables I made for you! I actually made these last year right before Violet was born but, then never had time to share them here. Worth the wait I hope. I’ve mentioned a few times, how I plan to paint the brick of the…

  • Whimsical Halloween Fireplace Mantel Decor

This post contains affiliate links. I may receive a small commission for any sales made through them, but the cost to you does not change. Full disclosure. Have I told you guys yet how much I am loving having two fireplaces in our new house? We haven’t used either for heating purposes yet, and only one is currently functional, but I am enjoying styling the other one with the wooden mantel above. This is the first home I have ever lived with real fireplaces. I have always wanted at least one, and now I have two! In our previous home, you may know how much I loved decorating my salvaged mantel.…

  • Eclectic Fall Fireplace Mantel

Fall is in full swing here even though the weather is still unseasonably warm. We have had a few cooler days, and I know more are in the forecast for next week. The “real time” decorating has moved into Halloween mode at our house…just cute and fun..nothing scary because we don’t get into that. We have some cheesecloth spider webs, friendly ghosts and a Halloween tree with lots of handmade decorations from the little ones. Today, I am taking you back a couple of weeks, to our fall decorated fireplace mantel. It is slightly altered now for Halloween, but here is how I first did it up to welcome fall.…

  • Trick-or-Treat Halloween Mantel

Happy Halloween! My kids are so excited to dress up today as a pink fairy and Iron Man for their school costume parade and then head out trick-or-treating this evening. I hope I can keep up with them! I’m 38 weeks along now, just waiting on Baby Girl to make her appearance.  A few weeks ago, I finally got the “Halloween decorating bug” and did up our dining room mantel. Hazel and Owen had fun helping me and making their own decorations too. Mainly, I used items we already had, decorations from previous years, and some crafts we worked on together. The only new purchases were all of the pumpkins…

  • Simple Fall Mantel: Minimalist & Natural

This year, I decided to go fairly simple with my fall mantel decor. The walls and salvaged mantel are both white, so I wanted to bring in a bit of deep seasonal colors and natural elements to welcome autumn into our dining room. I shared a glimpse of it in my recent Fall Home Tour. Today, I am sharing more details of how I brought it all together. This post contains some affiliate links. I may receive a small commission for any sales made through them. Full disclosure. It began with a woven basket, found at a thrift store, and a pair of brass candlesticks. I was really feeling simple,…
