• Our Next Home

If you missed my post on Monday, I shared some exciting (albeit bittersweet) news that we sold our home. In that post, I gave a tour of our current home, staged to sell, and today, I am giving you a glimpse into our next place! When we began our journey into finding our second home, I had no idea what we would end up with, but at that time I thought perhaps a large old farmhouse with tons of space and acreage. After a long while of looking and seeing many different types of homes in our budget, my preferences were narrowed down quite a bit. With three young children,…

  • We Sold Our House!

So, we actually did it. We sold our home! After living in this two bedroom, humble colonial for seven years, we took the plunge and put it on the market. Surprisingly, it sold within the first weekend, to the first showing and above list price. More about that coming soon including how I staged it myself on the cheap. The decision to sell has been in the works for years. It probably started around the time Owen was a toddler. The two bedroom thing was starting to become an issue. Eventually we made it work by switching out the master to make it the kids’ shared bedroom. And then Violet…

  • Eclectic Bohemian Bedroom Reveal

I have partnered with Raymour & Flanigan for this post. All expressed opinions are 100% my own. Full disclosure. My bedroom makeover is finally complete! I am excited to share a lot of photos and details about our space with you today and hope you enjoy the tour. It is on the small side since we switched from the master, but I am really happy with how it came out. It truly is like a dream waking up every day in this “new to us” room. Last month, I talked about making the switch from the master to the smaller room so that Hazel and Owen could have a larger space.…

  • From Living Room to Family Room

My living room has gone through so many rearrangements and decor changes in the short five years that we have lived here. Guaranteed, if you come over one week, things will be different if you come back a few weeks later. I am a perpetual rearranger. I love to switch things up. It keeps life exciting (well, at least for me). I recently decided to do another room switch and decided to move all of the “family room” furniture out of the smaller space it was in and back into our main living room. I did all of the following rearranging in one day and by myself (cause I’m crazzzy? Maybe…

  • Boho Eclectic Bedroom: Source List & Makeover Plans

I have partnered with Raymour & Flanigan for this post. All expressed opinions are 100% my own. This post also contains some affiliate links for which I may receive a small commission. Full disclosure. A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that my husband and I are finally going to focus on making a bedroom retreat for ourselves. We haven’t had a dedicated bedroom since before having kids. After they were born it has served double duty with the other side taking on various roles such as baby nursery, storage room and art studio. Well, not anymore. We moved to the smaller of our two bedrooms and are now in…

  • Deer Antler Ring Holder

I have always loved jewelry and have a thing for finding unique ways to display all of it. A couple of weeks ago, I showed a glimpse into our new bedroom with some simple storage ideas for jewelry including a real deer antler. I picked this antler up from an antique mall for $10 and decorated with it from time to time. Then when I saw this idea (affiliate link*) from Urban Outfitters, I knew that it was exactly what I wanted to do with it. It holds my cocktail rings, engagement ring and wedding band (which I currently don’t wear much because they only fit on my pinky after having…
