• Favorite Decorating from Our Previous Home

It’s hard to believe that we have lived in our new home for over six months now. I am loving all of the extra space and conveniences nearby, not to mention the opportunity to decorate with a completely new palette. We have met and even begun to build friendships with wonderful neighbors in our cul-de-sac, and it really does feel like home. I have to admit though, I still have moments where I miss our old house, the small country town we lived in, and the amazing neighbors we left behind. I still get a twinge of sadness when I think of that first home we lived in for seven…

  • Home Tour

Welcome to my home tour! My family and I moved to Perinton, NY in the summer of 2017. This is the second home that we have owned. Our new home was built in 1971 and is a traditional, four bedroom, 2 1/2 bath colonial. The home only had two previous owners and hasn’t ever been updated much on the inside, so we have some work to do to make it our own. I will be sharing lots of updates here as we remodel, decorate and make this house a home, so be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any transformations. We are a one income family, so all of our…

  • Settling into Our New Home

So we are here! We officially closed on our house and have been living here for almost a month now. Hard to believe. It has been an adjustment for all of us, but overall a positive one. Changes are hard even if they are good changes. We are still living with boxes all around and figuring out where to put our belongings but that is part of the excitement of moving to a new home. Finding a new place for everything. I might actually be pretty slow at it compared to most, or maybe the build up of packing, staging, selling and moving left me burnt out and now I…

  • Packing Up a House Full of Memories

I knew it would feel like the blink of an eye and the time to move would be here. And now it has arrived. We officially moved out of our home this week and the new owner was given the keys yesterday. I was feeling all sorts of emotions as we went through this process and our home got emptier and emptier. We are currently housesitting for my cousin as we have waited for the closing day on our new home. We finally get to move in this weekend! Since my desktop computer is packed away, I only have access to our laptop and previous blog photos, so today I…

  • We Sold Our House!

So, we actually did it. We sold our home! After living in this two bedroom, humble colonial for seven years, we took the plunge and put it on the market. Surprisingly, it sold within the first weekend, to the first showing and above list price. More about that coming soon including how I staged it myself on the cheap. The decision to sell has been in the works for years. It probably started around the time Owen was a toddler. The two bedroom thing was starting to become an issue. Eventually we made it work by switching out the master to make it the kids’ shared bedroom. And then Violet…
