Holiday Home Tour | Part Five | The Playroom
Welcome to Part Five of my Holiday Home Tour! I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas. We certainly did and enjoyed hosting dinner on Christmas day. We crammed 14 adults and three little ones into our 1300 square foot home, which made it pretty cozy. Everyone enjoyed themselves and lots of love could be found wherever you turned.
Today, I want to welcome you into our playroom to see how we had it decked out for the holiday season…(and again, as in my other posts, this room being this clean is a real rarity! There are normally toys everywhere, and it literally looks like a natural disaster hit. But a couple of weeks ago, when both kids were napping, I got it cleaned up and photographed for you!) Enjoy…
Everything is colorful and vintage inspired in here.
Well, one kid woke up while I was photographing…but he looked pretty cute so I didn’t mind him imposing…
Hazel received a pink ukulele for Christmas from her aunt and uncle…
We love Charlie Brown’s Christmas, so we of course have to have Linus and Snoopy around…
The pellet stove in the corner sort of became “non-functional” once we had children (unless we put some massive gate around it or something…so we just don’t use it), so this year I set up a little Christmas tree vignette on it. I haven’t completely finished decorating this room, but once I do, I will be sure to post about the before and after.
I hung ornaments from the pennant banners that my mom made. She made them for Hazel’s second birthday and afterwards I put them up in here. Someday I hope to get the time to post about the party…it had a whimsical woodland deer theme.
Hazel and Owen cook up a storm in this little plastic kitchen that Josh got for free. It’s not the cutest thing I’ve ever seen…but hey…free is free, right?
On Christmas Eve, I set up a couple of surprises in here. I actually have a thing about setting up special surprises in here that I started when Hazel was just a baby. I like to set things up in fun and new ways often…just because. They love it, and I can’t help myself. So…that night, since both of my kids LOVE balloons, and I didn’t want them to forget the reason for our celebration, I redid the chalkboard with a birthday message to Jesus.
I also set up a “Christmasy” manger scene in our Little People Barn (since there was of course no room in the Little People Inn next door).
And here is a glimpse of all the presents wrapped under the tree on Christmas Eve…

Again, I hope that you all had a wonderfully blessed Christmas! I am so thankful for all of the new followers and exposure I have been receiving since moving back to Blogger. It has been a difficult transition trying to build back my readership since falling off the face of the earth for awhile (or having two kids under two for awhile should I say?) If you are yet a follower, I would love to have you join with Google Friend Connect on the sidebar! And I of course love reading all of the comments left on my posts…they really make my day!
Wishing you a Happy New Year!

What a fabulous room for your children…a little magic for them to create and play and discover. I loved seeing some of the books and toys that my children had when they were younger…some things never go out of style!

What a beautiful playroom! As your little one gets older, you might want to try this dollhouse project: http://bit.ly/1a4Ha0Z It would be perfect for that bookshelf!
