• Styling an Antique Vanity

Last week, I showed you our bedroom decorating in progress along with the antique vanity my mom gave me. Today, I have some more photos of how I styled it and made it fit with my vintage bohemian bedroom. I’ve loved it ever since my mom first got it for her bedroom but wasn’t sad when she said she was updating her room and wanted to get rid of it. Win for me! I really like dark wood and love the variation of the stain on the drawers of this piece. I also love the shape of the mirror and decorative details it has. It has seen some wear, but…

Happy Saturday! I am so happy to be joining several talented blogging friends today to bring you the first in Jennifer of Town and Country Living’s blog, Cozy Living Series! It is sure to be full of ideas to help you create a warm and cozy home/life. I am honored to be a part of this talented group. I am actually thrilled that the first of this series comes at the beginning of November, my favorite time of year. Between now and Christmas is when I make my home the “coziest” and truly feel joy all around me. • Choosing Boy’s Bedroom Furniture

Thank you to Raymour & Flanigan for providing the furniture in this space. All expressed opinions are 100% my own. Full Disclosure. Last Friday, I shared with you guys Hazel’s bedroom transformation, and as promised, today I am showing off Owen’s! He just turned five at the end of September and loves all things red, Ninja Turtles, and superheroes. He has never had his own room, until our move to our new home over the summer. The transition was rough the first few months, since he was afraid to be on his own at night, but with the help of some new furniture, and doing up his room with his favorites, that…

  • Choosing Girl’s Bedroom Furniture

Thank you to Raymour & Flanigan for providing the furniture in this space. All expressed opinions are 100% my own. Full Disclosure. I am so excited to share with you the progress we have made in Hazel’s bedroom today! If you don’t know, we just moved to our new four bedroom home at the end of July after living in a two bedroom for seven years. Hazel is six and in first grade, and has shared a room with her younger brother, Owen, since they were toddlers. I have been anxiously waiting to make her girly dreams come true for her new room. Both kids had been sharing Hazel’s room…

  • Eclectic Fall Porch Decorating Ideas

I wanted to start this post with “Happy October!”, but I know it’s off to a sobering start with the shooting in Las Vegas. My heart is heavy every time I turn on the news these days, and yesterday, I sat in shock as I drank my morning coffee and watched my little baby, Violet, play innocently on the floor.  My other two were off on the bus to school and all I could do was pray. Pray, pray and pray some more. At the end of these confusing days, all that I know to do is continue to put my trust in God and spread as much goodness and…

  • when you don’t have a green thumb

I have never had much of a green thumb. I try. and try. and try. But alas, so many plants have met their unfortunate end in my care. Since moving to our new home, I now only have three living plants in the house. All of the rest never made it. Even my fiddle leaf fig that I kept going for almost two years. That was the hardest one to part with. The one that made me believe my black thumb might actually have a hint of green. Wishful thinking. I still really like to have greenery in my décor though, so I was delighted when on a Target run…
