• Good Books to Read When You’re Stuck at Home

Many people are finding themselves with some free time on their hands these days due to shelter in place orders and lock downs in different states. Or just as a precautionary measure to avoid exposure to COVID 19. The post contains Amazon affiliate links. I may receive a small commission for any sales placed through them, but the cost to you does not change. If your kids are suddenly home all day (like me!) maybe you’re not finding a lot of extra time, but then you might still need an escape. I know I do even on my best days! Four kids home all day with little breaks makes for…

  • Antique Dollhouse – The Upstairs

Hey Friends! Life is still on hold here in our part of New York State (outside of Rochester, NY). Schools are closed till at least May 15th and you can only buy one pack of toilet paper at the grocery store 😱. But we will manage. My husband is an essential worker in property management, so I’m definitely trying to keep it together without having a lot of breaks. The older two are *mostly* enjoying being home with me and the two little ones every day. We all have our moments and need some personal space now and then, but overall we are getting along fine. I hope the same…

  • Springtime in Quarantine

How are you holding up? This is such a surreal time in our lives, but I hope you are adjusting to your new normal whatever that may be. At our house, we are all currently in a seven day quarantine because poor little Fletcher developed a cough over Easter weekend. He seems to be doing okay, no fever or breathing difficulties. Just a rough cough that has made a few nights less than ideal. Having all four kids at home and trying to manage schoolwork for the older ones (plus their google meets and zoom sessions) while tending to the little ones has been my biggest challenge. I know others…

Life has sure changed in the past couple of months, hasn’t it? I never could have imagined living in a time like this, but here we are. I hope all of you are managing to stay healthy both physically and mentally as we battle this crisis time “together alone.” I, personally, am holding up well although we have all battled some form of illness or another in the past several months. Everyone seems to be healthy now and we continue to stay close to home. This time has had its number of challenges as we strive to figure out our new normal. My top priority is keeping the kids healthy…

Vintage Shabby Chic Valentine's Day Mantel Decor

Happy February! With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I wanted to share an oldie but a goody (at least in my humble opinion!). We are going back to 2014 when I decorated our vintage mantel for the holiday of love. I didn’t buy anything new for this vintage inspired mantel vignette. I simply shopped my home and thought outside of the box. Back to Blogging Illness has been rampant in our home for the past few months. We’ve had the flu, stomach viruses and lots of colds pass through. Even poor little Fletcher caught RSV just before he turned three months. It has been a rough winter. I hope the groundhog…
